A dark gray vase that was flattened on two sides for brushwork.
This stoneware vase was fired to vitrification (would not leak even if it were unglazed) for strength and durability. It was altered on the wheel to flatten two sides. After it was bisque fired the brush work was done and that was covered with wax resist. When dry the vase was glazed inside and out with a dark matte gray glaze. Then it was fired to 2300 degrees.
Approximately 4 inches tall and about 5 inches wide at the widest part.
