A free-form, red stoneware soap dish with amazing glazes.
It was thrown on a wheel then altered by throwing it on a stone slab then shaped and dried in a cotton sling. It was fired to vitrification for strength and durability. A long heat soak at 2300 degrees allowed the glazes time to intermingle and develop interesting shades of blue that feather into the silky white glaze. The spiral design raises the soap out of the water in the dish.
About 7 inches long and 4 3/4 inches wide.
