Everything in this shop is handmade and one of a kind.
This stoneware knitting bowl with a cane handle was fired to vitrification for strength and durability. A long heat soak at 2300 degrees allowed the glazes time to mingle, run, and produce rich, interesting colors.
There are no sharp edges to tangle or cut the yarn. The bottom is extra thick for weight to keep the bowl from tipping over. One part is pulled out and down a little so that it is easy to slide the yard up into the notch. The design has been tested over the years by many knitters.
The cane handle is all natural cane. Even the knot at the top and the rings that hold the handle tight are handwoven cane, not plastic or wire.
About 7 inches wide and 4 1/2 high (not counting the handle).
