WOOD FIRED VASE

Sorry, this item has sold.

A wood fired vase that has been colored by flames and glazed by the ash in the fire. It was fired in an anagama (Japanese for cave kiln) kiln stoked with wood every few minutes non-stop for five days.

The stoneware clay used to make this vase has been formulated to take the heat of a cone 13 (approx. 2450 degrees F.) wood-firing. The color and glaze on the pot is from the the fire. There is a nice transition from areas heavily glazed by the wood ash to areas of raw clay colored by the fire.

About 6 3/4 inches high and about 9 inches wide.
