This stoneware dog bowl was thrown on the wheel and fired to vitrification for strength and durability. A long heat soak at 2300 degrees allowed the glazes time to run, mingle, and produce colors that are rich and complex. Wider at bottom so it will not tip over and heavy enough to make it a little harder to slide across the floor. The white glaze inside the bowl has a orange-peal texture, making it a little harder to clean and the glaze on the outside has some very small "craters".
About 9 inches wide at top and at the bottom. About 4 1/4 inches high. Holds 15 cups.
Food-safe. Okay in microwave and dishwasher.
