This stoneware, covered butter or cheese dish was wheel-thrown and fired to 2300 degrees for strength and durability. It was held at peak temperature to give the glazes time to mingle, pool, and produce colors that are varied, rich and complex.
The plate is 7 inches in diameter. The dome and plate are about 3 1/2 inches high.
Food-safe. Okay in microwave, dishwasher, and even the oven.
The last two pictures are just to show a butter dish of the same size and shape in use.
