This stoneware dog bowl is divided. This slows down the dog that quaffs down food too fast and it provides a way to offer two kinds of food in the same dish.
It was thrown on the wheel and fired to vitrification for strength and durability. A long heat soak at 2300 degrees allowed the glazes time to develop depth and variation and to crawl a little to let the clay body show through like in the first picture.
About 8 1/4 inches wide. About 2 1/4 inches high.
Food-safe. Okay in microwave and dishwasher.
