Watering Bells were popular with the wealthy in 19th Century Europe for pampering exotic plants that they did not trust their servants to care for.
Submerge the Watering Bell in water until it is full. Place your thumb over the hole in the top. Keep it level. Hold over the plant needing water and lift thumb off hole to let the water gently rain down. Cover hole again to stop the flow of water.
This handmade, stoneware Watering Bell was fired to 2300 degrees for strength and durability.
About 5 1/2 inches high and about 5 inches in diameter. Holds 3 1/4 cups.
Food safe. Okay in microwave and dishwasher.
The last picture is of a different water bell.
