This terracotta planter with saucer was made of wheel-thrown, locally dug clay that when fired to the right temperature comes out a nice terracotta color and is porous. This allows air and water to flow through the pot which prevents root rot and soil disease.
It is fired high enough to be much stronger and more durable than most terracotta pots (many of which aren't real terracotta). It has a small hole for drainage and a saucer that has been treated with a sealant to prevent leaking.
Often I try for gesture but in this shape it's strength of form.
5 3/4 inches high. Inside diameter at lip 6 1/2. Outside middle is about 8 3/4 inches.
Everything in this shop is handmade and one of a kind.
