This small, terracotta planter with saucer was made of wheel-thrown, locally dug clay that when fired to the right temperature comes out a nice terracotta color and is porous. This allows air and water to flow through the pot which prevents root rot and soil disease. It has a brushstroke off yellow slip on it.
It is fired high enough to be much stronger and more durable than most terracotta pots. (Many of which aren't real terracotta.) It has a small hole for drainage and a saucer that has been treated with a sealant to prevent leaking. It also comes with a small shard to keep the soil from falling out or the hole becoming clogged.
3 inches high and 4 3/4 wide.
Everything in this shop is handmade and one of a kind.
The burnt orange color may be a little brighter or duller depending on your screen.
