TERRACOTTA FLOWER POT

$84.00

This large, terracotta planter was made of wheel-thrown, locally dug clay that when fired to the right temperature comes out a nice terracotta color and is porous. This allows air and water to flow through the pot which prevents root rot and soil disease.

It is fired high enough to be much stronger and more durable than most terracotta pots. (Many of which aren't real terracotta.) It has a small hole for drainage and a saucer that has been treated with a sealant to prevent leakage. It also comes with a small shard to keep the soil from falling out or the hole becoming clogged.

Lizella Clay is known to potters all over the US and Canada as the best-looking and strongest terracotta available. It is dug from the banks of Echeconnee Creek, a few miles from my studio.

6 1/2 inches high and 11 wide. Inside middle is about 8 1/4 wide.

Everything in this shop is handmade and one of a kind.

The burnt orange color may be a little brighter or duller depending on your screen.
