Stoneware Clay. Food Safe Glazes.
This small, stoneware bowl was thrown on the wheel then fired to vitrification for strength and durability. A long heat soak at 2300 degrees and a controlled slow cooling allowed the glazes time to produce colors that are varied, rich and complex. There are some iron specks from the clay body showing through the glaze inside the bowl that makes it look like a little pepper has fallen into the bowl. Makes a great ice cream bowl.
About 5 1/4 inches wide at widest points and 2 3/4 inches high. Holds 2 cups.
Food-safe. Okay in microwave and dishwasher.
