This porcelain soap dish was thrown on a wheel then altered by throwing it on a stone slab then shaped and dried in a cotton sling. It was fired to vitrification for strength and durability. A long heat soak at 2300 degrees allowed the glaze time to develop a deep sky-blue color. The spiral design raises the soap out of the water in the dish.
