A free-form, porcelain soap dish that was thrown on a wheel then altered by throwing it on a stone slab then shaped and dried in a cotton sling.
It was fired to vitrification for strength and durability. A long heat soak at 2300 degrees allowed the blue celadon glaze to develop to its best color and depth.
The spiral design raises the soap out of the water in the dish. It has a drain hole.
About 7 inches long and 4 1/4 inches wide.
