A free-form, stoneware soap dish that was thrown on a wheel then altered by throwing it on a stone slab then shaped and dried in a cotton sling.
It was fired to vitrification for strength and durability. A long heat soak at 2300 degrees allowed the glazes to develop deep, interesting colors.
The spiral design raises the soap out of the water in the dish. It has a drain hole.
About 7 inches long and 4 3/4 inches wide.
