Stoneware Clay. Food Safe Glaze.
This stoneware mug was wheel-thrown and fired to 2300 degrees for strength and durability. A long heat soak at top temperature and a long, slow cool allowed time for the glaze to develop a rich, deep, variegated blue and a nice "roll" at the bottom and "drips" that look like they are still running off the bottom of the mug. It has a very comfortable one-finger handle.
About 5 inches high and about 3 inches wide. Holds about 2 cups.
Food-safe. Okay in microwave and dishwasher.
